I just had the opportunity to talk to a couple that has been married 60 years. I asked them "What is one thing I can do to make it from 18 years to 60 years." The husband said "Respect each other", and the wife said "Compromise, you can't be right all of the time."
There you have it folks. She was 16 and he was 19 when they were married. He served 3 tours overseas while she was at home with babies. They made $50 a week.
I think it is time we stop making excuses and start making marriages that go the distance.
