I just completed the Advocare 24 Day Challenge. I lost almost 10 lbs. I am fitting into clothes that I have not been able to wear for years (Why I still have them is another story for another day). My energy level is out the roof which has had a direct effect on my productivity. I only started exercising near the end of the challenge. Now that piece has been added I will see even more results. The good news is this is not a diet but a lifestyle change so I can expect to continue to feel great. For more information on the 24 Day Challenge visit Advocare
There are three things I learned doing this challenge.
1. Lifestyle change is easier in community. My wife joined me on this journey. Doing it together made it easier to stick to it when cravings hit.
2. Speaking of cravings, your body craves what you put in it. If you feed on junk the body will want more junk. This goes beyond food. If you fill your brain with junk entertainment that is what your brain will continue to crave.
3. Not all success can be measured. There were days when the scale did not show the results I expected. However, my energy level was increasing and I was feeling great. There are other areas where this is true. It is difficult to measure success in relationships or emotional health.
Life change can be difficult. It is hard to not slip back on to easy street. When you do mess up it is important to remember life is a journey not a short term walk in the park. Is there a goal or resolution that you have let slip. Don't give up. Start over today.
