2018: It Is Not All About Me . What if each of us had that attitude as we set goals and resolutions? How would our families be different? How would our communities change?
I am not against setting goals or resolutions that personally benefit yourself. I have some of those myself. The question is, is it all about you or is there a bigger why? Do you want to improve your physical health to just benefit you or is it so you can be there for your family? Side note: if you have a bigger why than you, it is proven you will have a higher rate of success.
So as you are looking at this gift of a new year here are some questions to answer to help you make sure it does not end up all about you?
1. How am I going to increase my level of serving others this year?
2. How am I going to bless others with the little or the much that I have been blessed with?
3. How am I going to come along side someone else to help them achieve their goal?
4. Are my goals just about me or am I focused on others and a bigger picture?
5. Am I concerned more about my own personal, political, religious comfort than I am about the suffering person next to me?
6. Will the world I live in be better next year because I showed up this year to make it better?
